Lynx to Participate in National Girls and Women in Sports Day

To help celebrate the 26th National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) on Wednesday, February 1, the Minnesota Lynx will participate in a ceremony at the Minnesota State Capitol from 12pm-1pm. Members of the Minnesota Lynx organization will be on hand to help spread awareness of this day.

"The Minnesota Lynx are excited to take part in the state's National Girls and Women in Sports Day," Conrad Smith, Lynx Chief Operating Officer said. "This day is very important to our organization. We thank everyone who has contributed to this event for their hard work in promoting female athletics today and all year."

National Girls and Women in Sports Day was first chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1986 and honors female athletic achievement and recognizes the positive influence of sports participation for girls and women. The day is recognized in all 50 states.
